The empty sign frames remain standing atop Stoney Ridge. I remember the Appalachian Power one with the moving belt, and the Sunbeam bread one. Were there others? I believe the old Railroad YMCA building on Roanoke St. is visible just above the brick building (the left traffic light is in the middle of the building). The right photo is of McCulloch Alley, that went from lower Bland Street (beside Peters and Driscoll, just above Bluefield Avenue) through to Tazewell St./Ave. We used it as a walking shortcut to get to First Presbyterian Church, whose steeple shows at the end of the alley. I did not like to walk there, as it was a really dismal, dark place in my youth.
