The essence of the race problem in America is perfectly represented in my newsfeed. There are my black friends saying things like: this is a great injustice, I feel a lot of pain, this country is racist and then there are my white friends (not all, but the majority) saying things like look at those rioters go, justice was served. I also have black friends in my newsfeed suggesting that we need to represent ourselves better and that will stop these tragedies, or mitigate them, or whatever; Im not really sure how this magic of which they speak works. And I do have white friends acknowledging the injustice and calling for their fellow whites to stand in solidarity with people of color. There is no conversation, there is no mutual understanding, there is no empathy. There is a deep cleavage in our society. There is a victimized population on oneside and an indifferent population on the other, shielding their contempt with a paper thin veil of Im not racist. The saddest part: An unarmed black man was killed with his killer not even facing a trial and all you people can talk about is how some opportunist are getting free TVs? Im just wondering when you all will stop rolling yours eyes long enough to see the pain.
