The establishment is at it again. Apparently annoyed that they had to stay and work over the weekend and missed their fundraisers and cocktail parties because Cruz, Lee, and others are objecting to the unconstitutional cromnibus bill, they have decided to make up ridiculous lies and make conservatives look bad. The latest fabrication comes to us via RINO headquarters and it goes something like this... because Cruz objected on procedural points he dragged out the clock and now Reid will have time to push through 23 nominations. So in other words, 23 progressive nominations will pass and really progressive people appointed because of Cruz. If we can completely ignore reality for a moment, and also accept that otherwise violating the Constitution as a strategy to stop nominations is a valid option, this might be a valid point. Unfortunately RINO headquarters forgot that some people outside of their camp understand Senate procedure and rules. You see, BEFORE cloture votes on nominations can occur, the cloture AND final votes on the cromnibus had to be completed. In other words, there is no such thing as dragging out the clock to facilitate nominations votes. These nominations votes were going to happen no matter what. For example... even though the Senate passed the cromnibus bill yesterday, Harry Reid is still bringing them into work today to push cloture votes on nominations. This is just one more example of the go along get along progressive Republican crowd trying to attack those, like Cruz and Lee, for trying to stand up against the special interest groups and the cocktail party class. Yet another sign that now that the elections are over, many in the Republican Party can quit pretending to support Republican principles and conservatism. Predictably though they will count on millions of Americans forgetting this in 18 months as they start pretending to work with conservatives in order to win their elections, at which point they will immediately return to their usual ways.
