The event of yesterday is a sour one that needs perpetual and persistent outcry of everybody that has voice, passion and love for our chronically ailing nation: Nigeria. The Nigerian Immigration Services (NIS) conducted aptitude tests for applicants in the employ of the service. Over 650,000 applicants put in for a job thats meant for a paltry of just 4,000. The sum of N5000 was charged each applicant swelling the purse of the Immigration Services to a whooping N28b. This Nigeria where the government is not alive to its duty and responsibility but is not only alive but equally apt in embezzling, reaping and raping our common patrimony and subjecting the nations treasury into unprecedented haemorrhage. Just on Thursday 6th Instant, APC unveiled its manifestoes and declared that unemployment in the bane of the growth of our nation. The opposition party did not only identify the problem but it went ahead to declare that its government at the central will tackle the issue headlong and bring it down to permanent resolve. PDP, the ruling party, was apt to condemn this golden revelation and called the APCs manifesto several unprintable and uncharitable words. But lo and behold, an agency of the ruling party confirmed the fear of the opposition party in its recruitment exercise for just 4,000 vacancies where over 650 applicants put in for this job. Not only did this agency confirm the findings of APC but it also shows the level of decay and corruption that has engulfed our nation All developed and many developing countries pay certain amount of money to its unemployed populace in addition to certain other benefits like housing, medical, social etc but here in Nigeria, our government reaps from the paltry that the unemployed have, they do this in addition to the quantum of resources that they have siphoned into their foreign accounts and heavens. Let it be known that the Nigerian youths are getting more enlightened, exposed, conscientised and alarmed everyday, therefore, no one may not be able to guarantee a peaceful Nigeria in the nearest future.
