The events in Ferguson prove that the election of Barack Obama has done little to change Americas ingrained cultures of exclusion marginalisation, and stereotyping. You have to understand that the bias that exists in the United States legal system is a reality. With that said, it is a necessity that we do our part to let our children know that the rules and laws that apply to some may not apply to them therefore they must safeguard themselves by being aware of their surroundings as well as there actions at all times. Though nothing is 100% we have to give ourselves and our children the best possible chance of avoiding or suriving a potentially deadlly situation should it arise by informing them of the urgency to be aware. Time and time again it has been proven that what may result in a slap on the wrist for one person may end in death for another. Unfortunate but true.
