The events in faroff Crimean hardly raise an eyebrow in India but it is disturbing to note that the sovereignity of a nation has been violated in garb of protecting the rights of the Russian minority, strangely therehas been no instances of any minority bashing in Crimean under the Ukrainians. Putin has committed a crime, and has brazenly vetoed a Sec. Council resolution, the entire episode throws up a remarkably similar situation in our NE where in the Bangladeshi migrants have been able to change the demography of the region, Assam, Meghalaya, West Bengal, Tripura are emminently threatened by this influx of illegal migrants. Some may argue that Bangladesh doesnt pose any potent mil. threat but the geo-stategic significance of Bangladesh to China cannot be ignored and who knows what happens in Big games that nations play.there is a distinct threat of a Greater Bangladesh which may have certain areas of Assam n West Bengal. A Bangladeshi think tank has argued that rising Bangldeshi population cannot be thrown into the sea and hence they have a legitimate right to migrate to India. The Congress has systematically aided in this illegal migration of bangladeshis and appropriated them as a vote bank. Bangladesh itself says that about 5 crore of its people have gone missing over the years ...........
