The events occurring in Ferguson, MO are appalling to say the least and there will be those critics outside of the Black community who will state it is the fault of young black men (this is like accusing a woman who has been raped that she was at fault), but what others outside our community dont understand is this is indicative to what happens daily around the country. There are real disparities, injustices and discrimination that many other ethnicities have never experienced at the level of the Black community. So dont be too quick to criticize what you can never understand. Yes, there are steps that can be taken within the Black community to prevent certain situations, but like anything else it will take time. Change is needed in individuals attitudes, perceptions and mindsets. The national media machine in The United States of America has portrayed the Black community in such a negative light that the majority of individuals in the country and around the world believe it. They want the world to believe that we all are intellectually inferior to everyone; on welfare; incarcerated; the black man is a brute beast and doesnt want to take care of their families and that we are lazy. Its sad many of you lack the ability to think for yourselves and rely on the fear-mongering, as well as, rhetoric distorted by Tea Partyers; Right-Wing Pundits; Right-Wing Media Talk Show hosts and other hatemongers. Its time to wake up America. A house; country; family; generation; community; region; state; city and ethnicity divided against itself will not stand. Unfortunately we are proven this to be an absolute truth.
