The experience of reading AK and Das Kapital reminds me of one true and scenario in my adolescence. I have forgotten that for years. In 8 grade, I wrote an essay on whether China should practice Socialism for Chinese class because at that time, I was also reading the Marxist basics. I read it to my father who was a professor of philosophy. He praised my critical thinking, but then suggested the question was far more complicated than I imagine and Marxism was more complicated than the propaganda textbooks and then found me what Marx really said on some thick volumes of books. I was about to ask what my Chinese teacher would think about my essay. Then he said, give me your notebook, go and write another essay to your teacher on An Unforgettable Event. I will keep the old one for you forever.
