The extreme frustration many officers, their friends, and family feel when they need to defend their brothers and sisters in blue because of the misdeeds of a few is the exact same frustration people of color feel when were put in the same box as the truly dangerous and criminal elements of our people. We dont like being treated as assumed criminals in the same way officers dont wish to be treated as racist (or classist) bullies. Both sides need to take that feeling and understand that is exactly how the other side feels. If you dont like feeling that way, neither do they. Once we understand that, we can have a conversation.
