The eyes and face tell the story, Over dark times, due to the hidden past, Hard to conquer a lasting true Love, Trying hard to make it last…. One mishap leads to another, Blinding all eyes and me, Though I read the face clearly, The falseness… I did not see. Somehow at the time, Seems best to let bygones be untold, Not risking what you have, To let what you’ve found unfold? I’ll wait till the Dark clouds are clearer. The thoughts raced wildly through a mind, A better day or night for the heart to unveil, In this the truth I shall find… Again should I seek something different? Thus the truth has to be told, Or carry a burden deep within me, Grasping for the darkest parts Of the heart and soul. Is it easier to fall in?
