The fact is that the 21 century church has turned out to be very unattractive in so many fronts. It has become so Christless you would be ashamed to call yourself a christian. Void of love and truth, the most important fundamentals of christianity. On sundays we gather in big auditoriums that have cost a lot of money but the people who come to this auditoriums are living in depts and some in dere poverty. Nobody cares for somebody, like the priest and the levite in the story of the good Samaritan, we dont see it being our business to help those in need of help. Senior Pastors only recognise those who are rich and they put them in positions of leadership because of their economic position and not their spiritual position. Attention and counselling is also given to those who tithe better while those who cant afford to tithe in a satisfactory manner (according to the pastor) are ignored and given a cold shoulder. We have become so unforgiving and intolerant to one another. We have also become a religion of actors in that we act when we are in church or when we are with fellow christians but we become our real selves when we are alone or with our families. Christianity is quickly loosing its authencity, faith has been relpaced by materialistic things and the God of the 21 century all of a sudden is no longer the God of the 20th century. Man is glorified and instead of building God a house, we are building our own empires in the name of God. There is a very serious need for the 21st century church to return to her first love. Love for God and love for fellow brother must genuinely come from our hearts. Like the daughters of Job after his restoration, the church can become the most beautiful woman of our day and time. Washed with water by the Word, a bride without spot nor wrinckle or any such thing. Well toned and very attractive. Lets go for a makeover! Shalom
