The fact that Christian youth try to be Christ like makes them seem peculiar or odd to others on campus. Those who obey the school rules, respect their teachers and study hard are often ostracized by the vast majority of students. Sometimes they are even called names and insulted for only trying to do their best. Nerd, Geek and Bookworm rank high among the names that are used to describe those youth who dare to be different and excel. When the world calls a Christian peculiar it usually means something strange. However, when God calls a person peculiar it means that person belongs to Him. Do you know what peculiar means? Often when peculiar” is referred to in New Testament scripture it refers to being completely owned by God. In 1 Peter 2:9 believers are referred to as “a peculiar people. It means we are Gods purchased possession. As believers, we should not be worried about the large number of ungodly people. Psalm 37:1 reminds us to fret not when it to comes to them. Dont lose any sleep over what they are doing. Dont worry over how many of them it seems to be! As a believer, remember, you may belong to a little posse of Christian youth in your community but you serve a Big God!
