The fact that the bitter events experienced in the Islamic geography in recent years are on the increase is extremely distressing for the sake of the future of humanity, peace and tranquillity. Any kind of oppression, injustice, and killing are unacceptable no matter where ever they may occur in the world, whoever may be behind them, irrespective of the reason and no matter what religion, race, colour the victims belong to or the geography they live in. The massacre in Egypt which came at the wake of the holy month of Ramadan and just after the Ramadan Feast (Eid al-Fitr) has deeply saddened us as Muslims and has added to our sorrows. Those who ordered these massacres, who planned them and who undertook these actions should know well no reign, no rule can survive on the blood of innocent people. No earthly ambitions, interests and passion can be more valuable than having a person live. Those who butchered innocent people in Egypt, those who gave moral and material support to them have murdered humanity. They will sooner or later be punished in this world but there is no doubt that a great torment awaits them on the day of reckoning. Nothing they have earned on this world will save them from this massive torment. Doom awaits them. The administration of Al-Azhar in Cairo, which has been the scientific and scholarly hub of the Islamic civilization throughout history, has been the party to impropriety and has cast a shadow on foresight, understanding, honour and esteem which the religious establishments should have got while it should be striving for the peace and righteousness, tranquillity and happiness of the Egyptian people. Those who remain silent to this savagery should know that according to the religion of Islam which displays the truth very openly a person is not only responsible for not raising his or her voice when it is essential but they are also responsible for not taking the side of justice, the truth, peace, and tranquillity. Opposite to Al-Azhar administration the stance of the Islamic scholars who have been reacting from the very start to these events is very hopeful in displaying Islamic sensitivity and massive conscience. We take this opportunity to invite all the international organizations, the human rights groups, the massive conscience of the Islamic world to be more sensitive to the events in Egypt, to take into consideration the legitimate demands of the people and to say “stop” to the massacres of innocent people. We wish Allah endows mercy to those who have lost their lives in the events in Egypt, quick recovery for those who have been wounded, and we pray and wish to Allah to help our brothers and sisters in Egypt to get rid of themselves as soon as possible from the current situation they are living through.
