The fall season kicks off this weekend. I’ve lost count but I - TopicsExpress

The fall season kicks off this weekend. I’ve lost count but I think this is the league’s 6th season. By now you should be aware that all league games will be on Sunday at either Fort Ward or Minnie Howard. Hopefully, this will minimize a lot of personal/family conflicts that are more common Saturday nights. We’ll see how things go this season. We can always revert back to the previous Sat-Sun format. We also plan on renting a field Sat nights starting in October for pick-up games. More information will be sent out on that in the coming weeks. Please check out the League’s Facebook site https://facebook/OffcialAmslSoccerLeague for information on the league and games. I would also like to thank all the team sponsors, during the year we post information regarding each sponsor on our Facebook page. This is another good reason to like our page and check back frequently. · Potomac - Atilla Kocsis, Digital Phenom (digitalphenom) · Beverley Hills - Ross Feldman, MetaLake (metalake) · Braddock Heights – Larry Ponzi, Café Pizzaiolo (cafepizzaiolo) · Ivy Hill – Steve Morgan, Town & Country Movers (townandcountrymovers) · Del Ray – Los Tios Grill (lostiosgrill) · Rosemont - Laurel Conger, Alexandria Living (alexandrialiving) · Old Town - Raighne Delaney, Bean Kinney & Korman Attorneys (beankinney) I’ve been feeling a bit nostalgic about the start of this season. For the most part, the league has always been run by a core group of players. Their dedication over the years has helped us get to this point. This year, two long serving Officers have decided to step down. Both Rob Carraway and Raighne Delaney have served in nearly every capacity and I want to thank them and recognize their service to the league. The good news is that over the past couple of years a number of new captains have taken over and for the first time, the majority of officers are not from this core group. I’m confident this new group of officers will keep this league going for the next 6 years. I also want to welcome Nina Tyree, who is the new captain for Potomac. The new Officers for the coming year (9/15/13-9/15/14) are: · President - Mark Santucci · Vice President – Mike Alarcon · Treasurer – Jeff Zack · Secretary – Jon Harvey · Referee Coordinator – Tom Hamblett · Ladies Coordinator – Lori Rhoades · Team Captains: o Timber Branch - Danny Organek o Del Ray - Rob Carraway o Beverly Hills - Brian Waller o Braddock Heights – Lori Rhoades o Ivy Hill – Steven Duffield o Potomac – Nina Tyree o Rosemont - Michael Alarcon o Old Town - Bill Conkey When you see one of these Officers please thank them for their efforts keeping the lights on and the games on Schedule. Have a safe, fun and enjoyable season. Jon Harvey AMSL President (for 1 more week)
