The families of those that have had to come down have all been - TopicsExpress

The families of those that have had to come down have all been notified. Chris Jettner, Maxine Gotch, Peg Macavany and Myrtle Seaman are all safely somewhere down the mountain - I am not quite sure where they are, as the contact was brief, but Im sure we will be kept informed as to what is happening. The main thing is that they are all OK, and that there are still 8 on the go, so on to Day 6. Today is a gentle climb with panoramic views, walking on lava ridges beneath the glaciers of the Western Breach. We stop for lunch at our Lava Tower campsite where there is a steep and spectacular afternoon walk on the rocky lower slopes of the Western Breach to reach the ruins of the old hut at Arrow Glacier. This afternoon excursion is highly recommended both for acclimatization purposes and for the superb views of hanging glaciers on both sides of the Breach. Overnight at Lava Tower Camp 4640m. Cover 5km.
