The family of Reid Pickett has requested the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him with an escort and flag line at his final resting place at Georgia National Cemetery. We are honored to fulfill that request. Mr. Pickett served tour of duty in Viet Nam as Unit Commander 1542 Infantry. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry w/ Palm, Purple Heart, Silver Star w/ 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal w/ 2 Oak Leaf Clusters &V Device, Bronze Star Medal w/ 4 Oak Leaf Clusters &V Device, Air Medal and 4 Oversea Service Bars. The PGR will escort Mr. Pickett from the funeral home in Canton to Georgia National Cemetery. There will be no flag line at the funeral home. STAGING: Wednesday, 16 October, 1:15 p.m. Darby Funeral Home 480 Main Street Canton, GA Escort to GNC. Service at GNC scheduled for 2:30. For those going directly to the cemetery, please stage at the PIC Building no later than 2:00 p.m. It has been requested that the PGR provide 8 pallbearers for the interment service.
