The fantastic Recess and artist David Horvitz need volunteers at the New York Art Book Fair at PS1 9/20-9/22. Please read below and click the link to sign up! FROM RECESS: David Horvitz and Recess present Let Us Keep Our Own Noon, a project begun during the artist’s Session, In Search of a Longitude. Find a bell that once rung the time. Melt the bell. Shape all the metal into small bells. Find a person for each bell. At local noon ring all the bells together. Slowly walk in different directions into the surrounding city distributing the sound, and time. Let Us Keep Our Own Noon will be performed everyday of the New York Art Book Fair at local noon using a melted French bell from 1742. The phrase was found in a late 19th century American pamphlet protesting the standardization of time. We are looking for people to ring the bells at local noon each day of the fair. For information or questions about participating, contact [email protected] or to confirm participation fill in the form below. We’ll have food for performers! Local Noon Times: September 20 – 12:49 September 21 – 12:49 September 22 – 12:49
