The federal government has begun several procedures that could result in some federal prisoners receiving reduced prison terms. However, it is essential for the prisoners to maintain a good disciplinary record and to be able to establish a consistent pattern of rehabilitative efforts. If the government or the federal Bureau of Prisons can find one point to argue against a prisoner receiving a reduction in sentence, they will do so! I contemplate that some prisoners will receive substantial reduction in sentences based on several amendments (if they have not already benefited) or as a result of commutation of sentence. It is time to eradicate mass incarceration! Let’s do it!
