The feelings shared by Mr Pannvalan in response to the advise of friends who are advocating for working hard to impress the Govt. and seek favorable consideration on our demands: ************************************************** Some of friends in Facebook have advised us to ‘work hard’ and prove our mettle, so that the government will be sympathetic and favourably inclined to our demands. For them, this is my reply: > Working hard means now you are not working hard and you are very casual about your work and you do not discharge your duty properly and do not shoulder the responsibilities attached to your job profile fully. > Working hard means inviting more suffering and hardships smilingly. > Working hard means undertaking all thankless and unremunerative jobs/activities which are remotely connected to banking as defined under Banking Regulation Act, 1949. > Working hard means accepting all jobs cleverly dumped on you by the party in power to fulfil their political ambition, in the guise of achieving social objectives of the nation. > Working hard means carrying out all your customers personal functions which have financial implications. > Working hard means working like an Extension Counter of NPCI for payment and settlement of individual/commercial transactions, outside the business hours. > Working hard means receiving all those who visit you at the bank even after 6-30 in the evening without any restrictions, especially when such persons are free to lead a life of their own merrily. > Working hard means being honest and non-corrupt, but not complaining about job shirkers and morally and financially corrupt people. > Working hard means Doing ones duty, without expecting (reasonable) returns, as Lord Krishna told in Bhagavad Gita. > Working hard means sacrificing your personal life and life time goals, for the sake of leading a listless life of an ordinary mortal. > Finally, working hard means renouncing/forsaking all your hobbies, interests, friendships and relationships, to serve the nation like an army soldier. Alright, now a million dollar question: “How long do we have to work hard? For a millennium?”
