The fight for Giga UFB isnt over yet!! Dunedin is still very much in the running to become NZs first Gigatown. In Fact we are currently in first place by the slimmest of margins 2 Million points - make sure ALL you family & friends have registered to vote. You have until midday Tuesday 18 November to register - gigatown.co.nz/cast-your-vote Voting starts 19 November & stops midday 24 November. In our historic race off with Gisborne last Tuesday we broke all sorts of records. We overloaded Twitter and they stalled for about 30 minutes, we possibly broke the Facebook record for the number of posts in a single hour with over 100,000. We had incredible buy in from businesses, the council, hospital, lawyers, major accounting firms and so one because of the belief we have have in the benefits of the GIG. Dunedin is the ONLY logical place for the first Gigatown because of its Infrastructure , International Airport, Population, a developing IT hub, a warehouse precinct that can accommodate dozens of businesses, plus lets not forget the intellectual resources and IT skill base already here.
