The #filmmakers behind the testimony series I Am Second and the The Rise Initiative have partnered to launch an Indiegogoampaign to help fund the release of a documentary called The End of Malice. The movie tells the story of Gene No Malice Thornton, a former member of the duo The Clipse with his brother Terrence Thornton, better known as Pusha T. From the Indiegogo page: Despite the tremendous success the group achieved, Gene was left pondering and questioning his accomplishments. There was the guilt Gene felt from his actions in the drug game and his advocacy of drug dealing in his rhymes … The End of Malice film project is a collaboration of several groups intent on producing a lasting and significant change in the urban black community. Gene Thornton’s amazing story is the starting point with I am Second’s filmmakers bringing it to life and shaping the creative approach. The film (the trailer is below), also features interviews with Pharrell Williams , a close friend of the brothers who produced their early work with his Neptunes production outfit. In the trailer, Pharrell explains, “Even the most saved and sanctified person lives in a secular world. It’s what you have on the inside that’s what’s supposed to ground you.
