The final installment in our decade-by-decade survey of Calgary art opens tomorrow! Help us kick off Made in Calgary: The 2000s and contribute to one of the pieces. Artist Richard Smolinski is seeking participants to help create his installation Canceldomly Calgarious Revisserated. Attendees will help the artist compose new words and phrases (portmanteau) on the wall of the exhibition space using magnetized alphabet letters. The work explores word-play and language, and the collaborative experience of participants is a key part of the art. Canceldomly Calgarious Revisserated will take place on the second floor of Glenbow from 1:00-3:00pm on Saturday September 20, on the opening day of Made in Calgary: The 2000s. The completed piece will remain on display for the duration of the exhibition. This work will be an extension of a prior installation by Richard in 2009, Canceldomly Calgarious.
