The final poppy has been planted in a temporary art installation at the Tower of London to mark one hundred years since the first full day of Britainâs involvement in WWI. âBlood Swept Lands and Seas of Redâ was crafted by Paul Cummins and Tom Piper, and has seen 888,245 ceramic poppies planted in the Towerâs moat. Each poppy represents a British military fatality during the First World War. Approximately five million people have visited the installation and all of the poppies have now been sold, with a contribution from each bloom being donated to one of six service charities. The final poppy was planted by 13-year-old Berkshire cadet Harry Hayes this morning as part of the Armistice Day Service. Further details of the installation can be found here: poppies.hrp.org.uk
