The final race of the weekend was the most keenly anticipated, the undulating course gives rise to fast and aggressive racing , whilst the steep uphill kick to the line never fails to provide a thrilling finish. Many people tipped a rider from a formidable looking group four for the win, and this proved to be most prophetic, as heading into the final stages of the race the scratch groups frenetic chase had come up short and the winner would come form the 30 strong group up front. As the race hit the back road for the last time moray Firth found themselves with strength in numbers and sought to exploit their position by sending numerous riders up the road. Non of these attacks was to stick however, and the race was all together as the riders swung through the sharp left into the final mile, past Loch Insh to the finish. It was at this point that Moray Firth went on the offensive once again, with two riders jumping clear. As the group approached the narrow bridge over the Spey it became clear there effort was to come up short. It was left to Edward Fletcher to take up the sprint and as the riders streamed under the railway bridge at the foot of the climb it looked like the local club might snatch a famous victory. It was not to be, as another junior Alex Kinsley punched clear in the dying meters to take the victory from Craig Gilmour of Loudon roads, with Edward Fletcher hanging on for third. All in all a fantastic weekend of racing, many thanks to all riders, helpers and Hamish.
