The final update: Ashley, Melanie, and myself are willing to shave our heads if we can raise at least $500 for Alzheimers and at least $500 for Leukemia and Lymphoma (link will be available later). Well give one month for the charity. Even if we do not reach our goal, all money will be donated to the appropriate charity/research foundation. A donation receipt will be available once the donation is made. If the goal is made, a video will be shot in central park of the shavings. If we manage to raise over $1000 per charity, well give back to the world by buying 6 dozen eggs and letting tourists pelt us with them for $1 (will also be donated and the egg beatings will be filmed too). ---------------------------------------------------------------- You guys. this is REALLY important to me. For those that have read this far; thank you. I havent told anyone this really besides Melanie and Ashley, because I dont want anyone to treat myself or my family differently.The reason we chose Alzheimers as our charity of choice is because my father currently suffers from it and its really hard watching him slowly change as the days go by. He is literally forgetting his life, and hes had an amazing life. Hes served in two wars, hes traveled the world, been married SIX times, and he raised me when I had no real father figure. Its hard knowing that hes planning his own funeral because he doesnt want to leave that as a burden to us, and its heart-breaking seeing him apologizing and upset with himself because he repeats things or cant remember things he knew yesterday. The absolute worst part of this though is watching him lose hope slowly of ever getting better. There is no known cure for Alzheimers yet, just medication to slow it down so you can add a few years to your life.
