You will be shocked at what these 2 cars have in common: 1898 & 2014 designs... 2014 P1 designed by Art Center College of Design alum Frank Stephenson Santos & his amazing team at McLaren in the UK is an ultra lightweight, hybrid GT 1898 P1 designed by Ferdinand Porsche & his amazing team at Egger-Lohner in Vienna, Austria is an ultra lightweight, hybrid GT, of sorts... The 1900 Lohner-Porsche was the 1st front wheel drive! & electric wheel hub motor! The “P1” – designed and built by Ferdinand Porsche – was one of the first vehicles registered in Austria, (Vienna), the highly compact electric drive, weighing just 130 kg/290 lb, offered an output of 3 to 5 hp & up to 22 mph/35 kph, on September 28, 1899 at the international motor vehicle exhibition in Berlin - a RACE for electric vehicles over a distance of 40 km was announced.
