The first coalition in the political history of Nigeria was between the Nigeria National Democratic Party(NNDP) and the National council of Nigeria and cameroon(NCNC). Eventually in in the First Republic, there was a coalition between the NCNC and the NPC. One of the reasons is makin #Lagos a federalized state, not controlled by either of the regions in existence. Secondly, agreement on revenue sharing formular and thirdly, the thinking in certain quarters that the NCNC would monopolize federal jobs and patronages in view of the low level of education in the North.
