The first couple of weeks in september are always a somber time of year for me. Every september my mind takes me back to a place that I dont speak much of minus a reference in a sermon. Before I go any further please understand that I am not posting this for attention or sympathy. I feel pressed in my spirit to share because somebody out there needs this. This time 15 years ago I was at the darkest moment of my life. I made a decision that many people dont understand. I thank God that He placed some incredible people around me in that moment and they responded the way they did. I have never told them thank you. I never really knew how, but if you are reading this, thank you. I am forever grateful. Not everybody understands how somebody could make such a decision or get to that place where you feel you have no other options. You dont have to understand that. What you do have to understand is that there are people out there, people close to you that honestly feel like ending everything is the only option they have. And honestly, its usually not the people yelling that theyre going to kill themselves. Its the one that smiles and tries to put on this mask of happiness while inside they are tormented and broken. You cant spot them in the crowd. So youre probably wondering how you could help someone if you dont know how theyre feeling. Thats easy. You love and encourage the people you come into contact with. Your kind words may be the difference in life or death for that person. If you are suffering and you feel you have no other options please hear me when I say you do. And please understand that my door is always open. I know your pain. I know your struggle. I will not judge you. And know that regardless of how you feel or what you have done there is a God that loves you and wants to make you whole. He wants to fill that void in your life. There is no love like His love.
