The first day of Fall 2014 in Florida... Its gonna be strange to not pull out my sweaters and hoodies on a daily basis....to not see the leaves on deciduous trees and shrubs change to brilliant shades of red/orange/yellow/purple....and then fall off, leaving depressing bare branches. Flowerbeds bare, or worse, dead remains of what once was...teasing me to hurry and wait for warm weather again. I think I can get quite comfy putting on next to nothing (aka...bikini) and heading to the 80-something-degree warmth of Vanderbilt Beach to soak up the sunshine with my toes in the sand, looking at the ever-present dazzling array of pinks, reds, yellows, purples and oranges of the tropical flowers and shrubs, with vibrant green-leafed trees as a backdrop....while others up north bundle in sweaters and prepare to see bare branches and dead flowers after the week or two of brilliant color. Then its cold...ice...snow, they prepare for. Been there. Done that. I think Im gonna enjoy this strange Fall...and coming Winter. Very much.
