The first events at Isle of Man Darts Festival start at 8.30pm tomorrow night, with the Mens and Ladies IOM Classics at the Villa Marina. These are new additions to the festival, replacing the Early Bird competition which has been popular with those who dont want to wait until the weekend to get things under way. These events have been given BDO Category C status, so the opportunity to pick up world ranking points (and cash paid out to the last 16) will surely see an even bigger turnout than usual this year. Locals have had plenty of success on the Thursday night of the festival, with both Colin Tyrer and Wayne Harrison picking up the Early Bird trophy in the last 3 years, so lets hope we can get another Manxie on the finals stage this year! Prize money: Mens Winner - £750, Runner-up- £450, Semis- £250, Quarters- £100, Last 16- £50 Ladies Winner - £600, Runner-up- £300, Semis- £150, Quarters- £100, Last 16- £50 Only 24 hours to go, see you soon!!
