The first month is in the books for WR. Overall a great start, the golf course is taking shape and greens are growing in. We have met a lot of great new people and have rekindled relationships from the past. For those of you who still havent tried us out and are worried about the the tall grass or rough as its been called. We are striving for a links style golf course, the tall grass will remain native fescue grass and the rough will be maintained at a at 2/12 inch cut. Areas of the golf course on #1,#4,#14 native fescue will be cut and the rough will widened. Over the next several days yardage markers will be added, greens will be top dressed with an additional 40 tons of sand, and more seed, fertilizer, an additional applications of growth substance will be applied. Over 3,000 free golf balls were given out for free to play the WR. This will be continued into July. Not sure of any other course doing that.
