The first movie I watched in a Belfast cinema was An Officer and a Gentleman . Debra Winger was the attraction. I cannot recall much of the story but this theme song is different. It sticks to my memory of my undergraduate days struggling to make ends meet, counting coins and having chips and beans as lunch, cycling 3 - 4 miles in the cold winter to attend class (it was cheaper and more convenient than the bus). Sad news, just heard that one-half of the dual who sang the theme song, Joe Cocker has died. RIP.
