The first of two waves of low pressure is moving southward through - TopicsExpress

The first of two waves of low pressure is moving southward through the valley today. As of the time of this writing light showers had spread as far south as Madera County. This wave will weaken as it move southward for just a slight chance of sprinkles or isolated light showers in the south valley this afternoon. Following closely on its heels is another similar wave which will have similar results. A chance of light showers mainly from Fresno County northward but I cannot rule it out a shower or two elsewhere. A very temporary ridge of high pressure will move through Monday ahead of a strengthening Pacific storm. This system will have a tropical connection so a good soaking is possible where rain shadows are not interfering. One inch totals on the east side are possible and possibly two feet of new snow or more up and down the Sierra Nevada. Strong winds are possible in Kern County on Monday night and Tuesday. Temps, 67/43/65/48/67.
