The first person I met in Baltimore was a wonderful man named Tom. He was kind, caring, awesome, weird, totally crazy, and absolutely amazing! I mean all of this and I had only known him 6 days. He took me out and showed me Baltimore as much as possible in those days. We already joked about being Baltimore BFFs. Well he died late Thursday night (technically 1:50 am Friday). He died taking a man out of a bar who was terrorizing women (hes a bouncer). A friend of the man being removed thought it was appropriate at the moment to slash Toms throat. This for some reason hit me so hard. I went to his vigil tonight and am happy to have had the opportunity to hear all the wonderful things said about this man by his close close friends. I can only imagine how I would have felt had I known him any longer.... He really was pretty amazing.. RIP
