The first quarter of tonights Sunday Night Football game took 50 - TopicsExpress

The first quarter of tonights Sunday Night Football game took 50 minutes. There were at least 7 commercials breaks, 2 plays reviewed, one blown delay of game call...and not to mention each play was about 7 seconds long, punctuated by at least 30 seconds of inaction, often with the game clock not running. The game will likely be over around 11:45 tonight. Conservatively. A typical soccer match has a 45 minute half. There are no stoppages; if a player is injured, the clock runs and its added to the end, rarely more than 3 or 4 minutes. The play never stops. The players never stop for 45 minutes. Any reviews of goals are over in 3 seconds because of state of the art goal line technology. If a soccer match started at the same time Sunday Night Football kicked off, it would be over by 10:30. At the latest. Tell me again why soccer is slower and more boring than football??
