The first self-supporting charity foundation by designers in Greater China, C Foundation, recently held its first charity gala dinner in Shenzhen. This marks the official launch of the foundation. Frank Jiang, the Executive President of “C Foundation” said,The establishment of C Foundation began with a casual gathering among the designers from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, where we discussed about the design education and inheritance of the profession. Living in different regions yet sharing same beliefs, we all hope to pass on the design, set up a foundation in an effort to promote the design education and reservation of the design industry, provide exchange opportunities to the younger generation, and offer charitable design services to organisations or individuals in need.” He added, “With the mission of “Pursuing Innovation, Helping Business Start-ups, Building the Future”, we will be committed to spreading the spirit of design, fostering the design education and professional development in China, promoting traditional Chinese design and art culture among design community, in order to make contribution to the process of urbanisation in China.” The logo of C Foundation is designed by Hong Kong graphic designer Alan Chan. A swallow is used as the logo, as it is one of the traditional Chinese mascots, representing prosperous and thriving growth, highlighting the foundation’s mission to foster the development of design education, and promote the heritage of Chinese design and art culture.
