The first taste of Arctic air this year is on its way to the Triad - TopicsExpress

The first taste of Arctic air this year is on its way to the Triad later this week. Let me first say that while it will get incredibly cold there is no chance for snow. The Arctic Blast will begin to arrive through Wednesday afternoon and begin our near 48 hour stretch (Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon) of below freezing temperatures. Temperatures Wednesday night into Thursday morning will plummet into the low-mid teens. During this period wind speeds will likely be between 15-20 mph which will make temperatures feel more like -5° to 0°. These temperatures will be the coldest the Triad has seen since March 5, 2014. Thursday will have a lot of sunshine, but temperatures will only climb into the middle 20s. I am currently forecasting a high temperature of 25°Thursday afternoon. This will be the coldest high temperature the Triad has see since February 12, 2014. All of this being said we will not break any records.... its just going to be cold, really cold! Please take the proper precautions to prepare for the cold. Make sure everything and everyone (house, family, elderly and pets) is prepared and/or has a way to stay warm on these cold day/nights.
