The first time I listened to Kurt Viles Wakin on a Pretty Daze was over a year ago, having just arrived to live in Delhi, India. I remember lying in bed at night with my headphones on, marveling at the albums simple beauty and appreciating its uncanny ability to make the world feel smaller when I felt so far from home. Today Im listening to the same songs in Uganda, and they still lend every bit of clarity and comfort that they did the first time I heard them.
