The fog sprawled out against the mountain like it had fainted. - TopicsExpress

The fog sprawled out against the mountain like it had fainted. Early morning even the sun was half asleep so the light offered was more white than yellow and seemed filtered. The trail I was on was narrow and the foliage this high up was sparse. My breathing was heavier too and I became more focused on my movements, more calculating about steps I made. I delight in the complete solitude that is the reward for coming to a place like this at a time like this. The traffic, phone calls, pressing list of things to do have no claim on me here. My own thoughts begin to present themselves to me as though thry too are breathing a sigh of relief that finally they have a chance to speak uninterrupted to me. I listen. I enjoy what they have to say and marvel at the peace they usher in. Gods presence is heavy in solitude not the kind of heavy that is a burden but the weight of is Person and His Authority flattens somethings in me. Things like worry and fear regarding the future are suddenly miniaturized. I keep walking, my thoughts keep talking, God keeps flattening what is too poofy. By the end of the trail the sun will shine like gold and the fog will have vacated and I will be revived for another day in the place that where I am not alone.
