The following incident occurred in Jerusalem of a man that met with the Jesus. “For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had” John 5:4. Before the coming of grace, Jews were healed based on their effort to obey the law. It was well for him that obeyed the law. On this particular pool, it was not a matter of God’s grace, but it was an issue of who managed to dive first. Believing or not was not mentioned as a key requisite, but the first to make it would obtain healing. On the same place there was a man who had an infirmity for thirty eight years and Jesus approached that man so that he may receive his healing. We are told in John 5:7-8 “The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk”. This man was not healed based on his personal effort, but on the basis of grace. He was waiting for an angel, but having a challenge in that he did not have a relative, friend, or a hireling to help him jump in the water to be healed. Seasons came by and all he could do was see others getting healed. He had faith that he could be healed, but he could not dive in. He had an equal chance of which he could have to be healed if he had someone to help him. His situation was very tricky for him to be healed. Today I want you to understand that even if men choose not to give you a chance, there is a person who will heal you anywhere if you believe. He is not persuaded by majority support or by any complicated means. His name is Jesus. He is the reason why we go to the House of the Lord. He cares for your success. He cares for your lack and disability. He is the one who comes to you, and not you looking for him. All he wants is your response. Revelations 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me”. All he wants is your response. Today respond to his call.
