The following is a bit of a rant but Im just stating an opinion...feel free to share your thoughts if u feel so inclined. No one is wrong so play nice. Well anyway, I lost a lot of respect for a fellow musician that will remain nameless (no pun intended) so dont ask. At the end of the day I wont lose any sleep over this but it got me thinking...As musicians we are purely entertainers. No more no less. We are not the authority on anything... (Except for maybe living in a van and being thrilled for a case of water after a horribly misled and promoted show in a podunk town with a bad booking agency! Ha! Kidding)... And as an entertainer it is our job to distract you all from lifes problems. Its is also our job to bring people together. Not drive them apart with soapbox topics that cause controversy. Now Im not saying that we dont have messages that we believe in and try to convey to an audience but in the end... as I said before... its a privilege to have an audience... period. And I personally dont care what color you are. What religion you believe in. Where you come from. Whatever. If you do your best in this world to be a good person then you are welcome to a place in my musical world. I wish i had the fan base that these other bands have but you know what? I wouldnt trade any of you and I certainly wouldnt try to push you away by condemning a belief system. At the end of the day Im still a fan first. And now that I can be on the opposite side there will never be a place for hatred of any kind in DFH. Some bands wonder why they have trouble selling records. Smh.
