The following is an apology to a person I had a bit of a battle with the other day... Given that our discussion was in public it seems appropriate to post it up here (it was sent to her privately, already). Karen, Id like to extend an apology. We dont know each other from Adam. So, it is rather unfortunate for us to have gotten off on such a bad foot. After all, we havent so much as shook hands, let alone had time to sit down in person, share some coffee and have fun discussing things we find truly interesting. Im sorry that what I originally wrote made you feel the way it did. It is never my intent to offend someone like that. I should have come out immediately with an apology, but didnt. I was certainly in error there. While I, like you, am someone who stands by certain principles and opinions, for reasons that are deeply personal to me, I cant engage in a debate that begins to turn emotional. I should have been upfront about that, and not overreacted, which was, ironically, a breaking of my own principle --- that is particularly true of my second post that artificially pit you and I against one another, without purpose.
