The following is the note we sent out to our email list today. Wanted to share on Facebook as well. Its been more than two weeks since Election Day. And while the State of California wont finalize the election results until early December, Im writing to share some thoughts about our campaign—both what we accomplished and where we fell short. First, thank you. As I said throughout the campaign, I know this election wasnt about me—it was about people coming together to improve the lives of Californias kids. While I am of course disappointed that we lost this election, Im inspired by what I saw on the campaign trail over the past 15 months: a growing movement of people who are absolutely determined to do whats right for our children. Thats why Im so confident that we will ultimately succeed in our efforts to give all children the education they deserve. So while I didnt get the job I wanted, Im not giving up. Right now, Im working to identify new opportunities where I can have the greatest impact on improving public schools. Once Ive finalized my plans, Ill be in touch.
