The following is why entrepreneurship is an endangered species in America: Today, I set out to establish a P.O. Box address for Rabbit & Turtle Beverage Corp, for printing on our Colonel Jesses Small Batch Tonic labels, business cards, promotional material, etc. I entered the Post Office with a STATE GOVERNMENT ISSUED DRIVERS LICENSE, along with my personal and business debit cards as forms of I.D. - the same forms of I.D. I am allowed to board an airplane with, mind you. When I inquired about how to set up a P.O. Box, the woman asked, Are you the owner of the business? I responded, Yes. She asked if I had any proof...such as letterhead (which is apparently impossible to create if you are not, in fact, the owner of said company). Since we do not yet have an ADDRESS, we do not yet have any LETTERHEAD to offer as PROOF of my ownership of the company. I asked if I could email our articles of incorporation to the Post Office for printing, but she did not have access to email. All of this makes total sense. I am glad my taxes go toward employing people with absolutely zero logic skills. :-(
