I am reposting it here... not because we are taking a stance in one direction or the other of the School Boards decision but because we have been and will continue to be a member of this community and advocate for the young people within our service area. If you are in favor or against this decision... reach out to the Manor Board of Trustees and let them know. ****** ~ ***** ~ *****~ ***** Manor Folks, I am posting this information to ask for your support of Superintendent Kevin Brackmeyer. At a board meeting Monday, January 13 th , 2014 board members Desiree Cornelius Fisher, Allen Ambuhl, Sam Samaripa and Adrianna Gutierrez voted against extending his contract. Melinda Fiebig, Marlon Thomas and myself voted to extend the Superintendents contract. When Kevin Brackmeyer came to Manor ISD as Principal, Manor High School was on TEA’s closure list for its Academically Unacceptable rating. Brackmeyers rapport with the students , staff, parents and administrators transformed Manor High’s culture and subsequent grade to Academically Acceptable. He authored the phrase “Right Here, Right Now” for all aspects of the school and was embraced. Brackmeyer was hired as Superintendent in 2012 and has made a positive impact throughout all schools in the district. This is most recently evidenced by increasing student attendance which translates to increased revenue to the district of $957,000 dollars. I think Superintendent Brackmeyer is doing a great job for the district and should remain on the job. He is serving the students, parents and tax payers well. I am asking for your support by contacting all school board members to express your support and to attend any upcoming meetings concerning Superintendent Kevin Brackmeyers contract.
