The following organization is promoting better education for our children educationvoterspa.org//. I went to a meeting last night in Chambersburg which was chaired by Susan Spicka. Mrs. Spicka did not allow public comments because she said she received nasty e-mails from some people and did not want a disruption in her meeting. Any questions had to be on a 3 by 5 card. Superintendants from each school district talked about the need for more money for better education the children and how most are working with a deficit. There were not many positives only complaints and they offered no resolution, other than the state needs a formula for distribution and additional monies from the state to continue what they deem a quality education. They delegated the problem to the senators and to the representatives to get the peoples opinion on what they think need to be done. One superintendant, Dr.Sherian Diller of Waynesboro school district, seem to understand that the owners have been taxed to death and that they have to do more with less. Mrs.Spicka did ask if any superintendant wanted to speak about the Property Tax Reduction Bill and all declined to comment except for Joe Padaska of Chambersburg School district who said that he didnt believe property taxes would ever not be required at least in some respect. What I would like you all to do is to provide this group with ways that the districts can save money. Dont be nasty and rude but come up with some good thoughts and share them.
