The following three players could be key for Orlando Pirates when they kick-off their CAF Champions League Group A campaign against AC Leopards of Congo on Saturday evening. Kick-off at Orlando Stadium is at 20h15 CAT. Sifiso Myeni The winger showed glimpses of his immense talent last season, his first full campaign for Bucs, but in 2013/14 he will be itching to take his game to a new level and become a genuine match-winner for the Buccaneers. The former Bidvest Wits man scored a brace in Pirates’ recent friendly win over Matlama FC and looks to be in great touch heading into this clash with Leopards. Senzo Meyiwa Meyiwa was the hero of Bucs’ previous round tie against DR Congo heavyweights TP Mazembe, with his second-leg performance keeping the Soweto giants in the tournament when all the odds were stacked against them. The recent departure of Moeneeb Josephs means Meyiwa is now even more secure as the team’s top goalkeeper and Pirates will need him to be in top form if they are to get out of a tough group. Lennox Bacela With Benni McCarthy having retired and Takesure Chinyama being released, Pirates needed to boost their forward options. To that end they signed Lennox Bacela from Bloemfontein Celtic – the 30-year-old initially seemed a strange choice, but in fact his ability to play alone up front while providing greater mobility than someone like Collins Mbesuma means he will probably be coach Roger De Sa’s preferred option. He also netted a brace against Matlama and will be eager to impress if he makes his competitive debut against Leopards.
