The following traffic advisory is for Friday, September 13 – Thursday, September 19, 2013 A PSE&G crew will excavate a test pit at Tonnelle and Van Winkle tomorrow, Friday, September 13th and Monday, September 16th. This crew will then proceed to excavate Z-cuts for manhole construction on Van Winkle, Senate and Newark Ave. from Tuesday, September 17th through Thursday, September 19th. If the test pit at Tonnelle and Van Winkle only takes one day, the first Z-cut will begin Monday instead of Tuesday. This construction is being done to support the PSE&G North East Grid (NE Grid) Electric Transmission Reliability Project. This segment is part of an 18.5 mile underground electric transmission circuit, pseg/family/pseandg/powerline/reliability_projects/northeast/index.jsp. If possible, motorists are asked to find alternate routes and avoid this area, especially during times of peak traffic volume. PSE&G reminds motorists to slow down and be alert when driving near the construction zone. The current road restoration is temporary. The permanent restoration will be scheduled at the completion of the Jersey City segment of the electric transmission reliability project and when natural compaction (settling) has occurred. Please feel free to post the traffic advisory on your social media accounts and to provide my email address, richard.dwyer@pseg, and the project toll-free number, 1-877-678-5784, to your neighbors or colleagues who may want to seek additional information about the project or to be added to the “traffic advisory” distribution list. Sincerely, Richard Dwyer, Public Affairs Manager Electric Transmission Construction
