The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.. They are all - TopicsExpress

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good (righteous), no, not one. - Ps. 14:1-3 (Qouted in Rom. 3:10-20) The word fool in this context means morally deficient - referring to someone who walks the legal line staying in the boundary of the law but teeters on the edge of the law. It never referred to people outside the law (Gentiles), unbelievers and neither does it refer to the righteous (justified by faith): it refers to those subjected under the law - hence Paul called Galatians fools for they were seeking to justify themselves by the law. The fools become filthy for their trust is in their self-righteousness which is as filthy rags. Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. - Gal. 5:4-5 The word fool used in here isnt a strong language or insultive word. Trust in the finished work of Christ - as long as youre justified by faith youre no fool; for the law is for the unrighteous. Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient.. - 1 Tim. 1:9 #Destined_to_live
