The forest is becoming dry, every step we can hear a crunch of the dry leaves on the forest floor. The elephants got startled by something, moments before we could hear a grasscutter or possibly a chain saw in the far distance. This may have spooked the elephants. Mae Kam and Mae Jumpee reassure each other that everythings okay. Elephants will vocalise using grumblings, squeaks and trumpets when they are happy, asking a question, angry, frustrated or scared. In cases like these they have the space to let it all out and will continue to have a conversation, something that captive working elephants usually are not given the ability to do. Mae Kam and Mae Jumpee will break out in grumbles, squeaks and trumpets for many reasons. Its such a privileage to be able to see elephants having the ability to just be elephants. #LetElephantsJustBeElephants
